01Introduction

Rekare Doctor (“Rekare”, “we”, “us”) is a telehealth platform that lets registered medical practitioners manage patients, appointments, consultations, and clinical records, and lets patients connect with their doctors for care. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle and why.

This policy is published in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules framed thereunder, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India. By creating an account or using Rekare, you acknowledge the practices described here.

02Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to deliver safe, continuous care.

Information you provide

  • Identity & contact — name, phone number, email, date of birth, gender, and address.
  • Doctor credentials — medical registration number, qualifications, specialisation, and clinic details.
  • Health information — symptoms, diagnoses, prescriptions, lab reports, and consultation notes.
  • Payment details — processed through secure third-party gateways; we do not store full card numbers.

Information collected automatically

  • Device model, operating system, app version, and IP address.
  • Usage and diagnostic logs to keep the service reliable and secure.

03How we use information

  • To create accounts and verify the identity of doctors and patients.
  • To enable consultations, appointments, prescriptions, and record-keeping.
  • To process payments and send appointment or medication reminders.
  • To secure the platform, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
  • To improve features using aggregated, de-identified analytics.

We do not sell your personal or health data to advertisers, and we do not use health data for marketing.

04Health data & consent

Health records are treated as sensitive personal data and are handled with the highest level of protection under the DPDP Act, 2023.

Patient health information is entered and accessed only for the purpose of care. A patient’s records are visible to the treating doctor and to the patient. You may withdraw consent for processing at any time, subject to legal record-keeping requirements that apply to medical practitioners.

⚕ Medical disclaimer

Rekare is a facilitation platform, not a medical provider. Clinical decisions, diagnoses, and prescriptions are the sole responsibility of the treating doctor. In an emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.

05Sharing & disclosure

We share information only in limited circumstances:

  • Between doctor and patient as required to deliver care.
  • With service providers (hosting, payments, SMS/email) bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • When required by law, court order, or a lawful request from an authority.
  • During a business transfer, with continued protection of your data.

06Security

We apply encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected users and authorities of a breach as required by law.

07Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Access and review the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request erasure of your account and data, subject to legal retention rules.
  • Withdraw consent or nominate a person to exercise your rights.

08Retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by medical and tax laws. Health records may be retained for the period mandated for medical practitioners under Indian regulations.

09Grievance & contact

For any privacy question, request, or complaint, you may contact our Grievance Officer. We aim to acknowledge requests promptly and resolve them within the timelines set by law.
